What: A mineral sunscreen that moisturizes, hydrates and protects the body from damaging UV rays.

Who: All skin types.

Why it works: Packed with a whopping 20% dose of zinc oxide, you’ll be protected from both UVA and UVB rays with this non-greasy sunscreen. Free of chemicals, the formula is loaded with antioxidants to fight sun damage, nourishing oils and extracts to hydrate the skin and help maintain the skin’s lipid barrier and calming aloe vera to soothe sunburns and calm inflammation. To top it all off, it has a yummy citrus scent that’s reminiscent of an orange dreamsicle.

What else you should know: Cruelty-Free and Vegan. TSA Friendly Size.

What it contains: Active Ingredients: 20% Zinc-Oxide; Inactive Ingredients: Aloe Barbadensis (Organic Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice, Camellia Sinensis (Organic Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Caprylic Capric Triglycerides (Coconut Oil Extract), Cetyl Dimethicone (Mineral Based), Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Sweet Orange) Essential Oil, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Essential Oil, Citrus Reticulata Blanco (Tangerine) Essential Oil, Cucumis Sativus (Organic Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Dimethicone (Mineral Based), Ethylhexylglycerin (Plant Derived Preservative), Glyceryl Monostearate (Plant Derived), Helianthus Annuus (Organic Sunflower) Seed Oil, Hexyl Laurate (Plant Derived), Hyaluronic Acid (Plant Derived), Magnesium Sulfate (Epsom Salt), Polyaminopropyl Biguanide (Preservative), Polyglyceryl-4 Isostearate (Plant Derived), Punica Granatum (Organic Pomegranate) Seed Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Organic Jojoba) Seed Oil, Sorbitan Stearate (Plant Derived) and Water (Aqua).

What it doesn’t contain: Parabens, Phthalates, Propylene Glycol, Mineral Oil, Synthetic Dyes, Sulfates, Nanoparticles and Chemical UV Absorbers.

How to use it:

-Since Suntegrity is a mineral sunscreen, you will need to use about 1/3 less product than if you were using a chemical sunscreen.

-Apply 2-3 teaspoons of sunscreen to cover your entire body. Because mineral sunscreen is thicker than chemical sunscreen, we recommend dotting it all over each area and then rubbing it in thoroughly.

-The product starts out white so you won’t miss a spot, but it will quickly absorb into the skin and the white will disappear.

-Be sure to reapply at least every 2 hours.

Proven! Our team of chemistry whizzes has analyzed this product’s label claims, and the ingredients that deliver them. Here’s the science behind why it works.

The Claim: Combats Free Radical Damage

Ingredient: Pomegranate Seed Oil - Extracts from this anti-oxidant rich tart fruit have been shown to help protect from cellular damage caused by exposure to UV radiation and inhibit lipid breakdown in the cell membrane.  Read study.

Ingredient: Green Tea - Who knew that the next best thing to drinking this anti-oxidant-rich tea is to slather it on your face? It’s been proven that topical use of green tea extracts decreases free-radical damage induced by UV rays—a nasty process that breaks down collagen and elastin (your skin's support structure) and causes pre-mature aging. Read study

The Claim: Reinforces Lipid Barrier

Ingredient: Aloe - Aside from being a soothing ointment for nasty sunburns, aloe extracts also help retain the water in your skin and reinforce the lipid barrier. Read study

Ingredient: Jojoba Oil - Pronounced ho-ho-ba, this natural plant-based oil helps other oils penetrate better since its waxy consistency is similar to our skin’s natural sebum. Read study

Ingredient: Sunflower Seed Oil - Jam-packed with linoleic acid, sunflower seed oil has been found to quickly reinstate the skin's barrier function, keeping moisture in. Read study.

About The Brand: Suntegrity

Suntegrity was born from founder Tricia Trimble’s desire to make natural, non-toxic sunscreen that people would actually wear—meaning it wasn’t greasy, didn’t leave a white chalky cast on the skin, and smelt good.

  • Leaves a serious white cast on face. by meganb22

Lovely, non-toxic ingredients but definitely leaves you looking mighty pale. At first the fruity scent was too strong, I've since learned to like it ok. The three stars is purely for the pale face it leaves me. I should have known 20% zinc oxide would do that though.

  • I am SUPER picky and this is one of the best by rlandis

I am incredibly choosy about sunscreen and ALL skin/hair products (a note about this site, NOT everything is all natural, a little more than half the products here are super pure and wonderful and then many others do have things like propylene / butylene glycol, parabens, copolymers, octocrylene, disodium EDTA/ tetrasodium EDTA and more...other synthetic, artificial stuff i could list that I find it totally easy to avoid as there are TONS of products (many of them here, as well as other similar sites) that do NOT have them, and they are clearly not needed. Not everything is vetted for the purest standards here--ALWAYS CHECK INGREDIENTS at least they list them, I like that!). You don't need to support the companies that still put that crap in there for no reason. THIS sunscreen is amazing. I am always trying new natural sunscreens as I live in Arizona and am very outdoorsy and need to protect my skin. I like my sunscreens to be totally natural, no chems whatsoever whether for the screen itself or any other ingreds.... and yet also not white, not sticky, not greasy, not is hard to find sunscreens that meet all those requirements! Until I found this my faves were Devita, Live Live and Organic, Erbaviva and one of the Badger products (tangerine/vanilla for kids) Trust me I have tried them ALL, every time one comes out, including ones even the Environmental Working Group hasn't heard of or reviewed! This one meets ALL my needs. It's totally natural, goes on slightly white but doesn't stay white, doesn't make me feel like I've been waxed or siliconed, isn't sticky or greasy, doesn't crumble up into "crumbs" and even has anti-aging ingredients! It smells AWESOME...and best of all it STAYS ON IN THE WATER! (much better than the other natural ones that I love). When I'm swimming or doing high-sweat activities like running or hiking, this is now my go-to product. I can even use it on my face even though it's a body product, also a first.) I will definitely buy more.

  • Nice safe Sunscreen by americangirl

After a discussion with my grown daughter in the safety of sunscreens we did a lot of research through websites and the EWG which rates product safety. That was my decision to buy this product. It rated very high. It blends in smoothly and works great. Worth the price for safe tanning and protection. I will continue to buy this product even though it is expensive. I wish it came in a bigger size.

  • BEST SUNSCREEN EVER by carolwill

I am very careful at what I put on my three children - we've been through tons of brands of "safe" sunscreens. My kids hated all the goopy, chalky mess the others left. This is the only sunscreen they don't complain too much about. We started with the small 1.7 oz face sunscreen & primer at twice this price. I don't see too much of a difference between the two, especially for the kids, so I think we'll be buying more of this!

  • I love this sunscreen! by sarah7532

I wear sunscreen on my hands and face almost every single day, so it's really important to me that I'm using a good one. I am a huge fan of zinc oxide sunscreens because I don't feel that confident that other kinds of sunscreen do as good a job preventing skin damage. I had been using nano-type zinc oxide sunscreens but I felt a little nervous about that because if you have any cuts or scrapes on your skin the nano stuff can enter your system, which is definitely bad. So I'd been using the supermarket/natural foods market non-nano zinc oxide sunscreen. But it smelled strong, was very thick and hard to spread, and sometimes even separated a little in the tube. My friend sent me the Suntegrity brand, which has a similar sun protection, and it is so much better! It is like a normal sunscreen, or maybe even lighter than that, and closer to a light lotion. It rubs in easily and it smells good with a gentle orange scent that dissipates quickly. Needless to say I am no longer using my old brands, and I'll be buying Suntegrity in the future.
